Tom Wilson
Acting Deputy Lead, NPI at USAID
Tom Wilson is the Acting Deputy Lead for the New Partnerships Initiative (NPI) in USAID’s Local, Faith, and Transformative Partnerships Hub. Tom supports communications, external relations, and policy for the NPI team, which focuses on enabling USAID to expand its work with nontraditional and local partners around the world. He was closely involved in the 2022 launch of USAID’s Local Capacity Strengthening (LCS) Policy, the design of DRG Bureau’s Powered by the People activity, and more recently the Learning and Feedback Forum for the LCS Policy. Prior to USAID, Tom worked for the Defense Security Cooperation Agency and as a staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has degrees from the University of Chicago and Wheaton College (IL).
