Regina Schmidt is the Head of SDG2 Acceleration at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator, founded in 2015.
Regina is leading the sourcing of disruptive ventures and the sprint piloting by connecting them with the World Food Programme’s global network and field operations in over 120 countries and territories. Her portfolio of ventures is addressing a wide range of social impact and sustainability issues, including climate change, food system transformation, gender equality, or emergency preparedness & response. The innovations are leveraging low and high technologies like artificial intelligence or machine learning.
Prior to joining the Accelerator, Regina worked in the consumer goods sector and was Partner at a leading strategy consulting company supporting global companies along the consumer goods value chain in innovation management, growth, and efficiency. Regina holds a master’s degree in international business administration.
