Prince Israel Orekha

Prince Israel Orekha is the executive director of Connected Advocacy for Empowerment and Youth Development Initiative, He is responsible for organizational leadership, programs coordination, climate change and environment advocacy. He fostered mobilization, advancing accountability and local governance, through community dialogues, exhibition, and storytelling of the devastating impact of climate change through arts, health programs to women and youths. He has nearly a decade of experience leading capacity building of vulnerable communities to develop anticipatory action and climate mitigation, in the Niger Delta Region to champion transition to Net zero commitment. Member of the Global Network of Civil Society on Disaster Risk Reduction, Intergenerational equity innovation and youth of Climate and Sustainable Development Network of Nigeria, Nigerian Civil Society framework on Paris Agreement and SDGs, Regional Coordinator West Africa Youth Employment Decade and coordinator and member of several networks. He authored “The global politics of deep decarbonization and community participation in environmental governance pathways for sustainable energy transition in west Africa”. He obtained several outstanding certificates from National Open University of Nigeria with a degree in Early Childhood Education, with a major in environmental resources management and care, IT Skills from University of Cambridge, and UNITAR, and was awarded African Healthcare Ambassador.
