Nicholas Adzaho

Operations Fellow RH Unit at UNFPA Ghana

Nicholas is a highly skilled nurse, disability inclusion Auditor and sign language interpreter with more than six years of experience in sexual and reproductive health, disability inclusion, and humanitarian work. He excels at addressing and analysing disability inclusion and health system strengthening issues. Notably, he developed a framework for auditing accessibility for webpages for organisations and initiated an inclusive video call centre that allows victims of gender-based violence who are visually and hearing-impaired individuals to access help. For the past year, Nicholas has been working on disability inclusion policies for his organisation and other agencies to ensure no one is left behind. He is also an Agile facilitator and coach and facilitates basic sign language for communication within UN agencies in Ghana. In addition, he is a data analyst who participated in the Ghana population census, believing that data-driven decisions are crucial for development. His expertise in disability inclusion has enabled many young people with disabilities to access reproductive services from service providers without bias. Recently, Nicholas was invited by the African Union Youth Division in partnership with the UN in Ghana to teach young people from 25 countries international sign language during the All African Games in Ghana. He won the 2023 UNFPA Ghana Innovation Fair and recently won the AHIC & UNFPA Ghana national innovation award.
