Maïlin Fauchon is the Coordinator of the Global Logistics Cluster, a pivotal role in a formal partnership of logistics professionals committed to overcoming logistics constraints hindering the efficient delivery of humanitarian assistance during emergencies. The Global Logistics Cluster is led by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). In this capacity, WFP supports the implementation of the Cluster approach, and acts as a provider of last resort for common logistics services, when critical gaps impede the humanitarian response. Over the past 20 years with WFP, Maïlin worked in Niger, Chad, the Philippines, Senegal during the West Africa Ebola Outbreak, Haiti and Nepal. Her work covered a spectrum of responsibilities, including supply chain management, resource mobilization, management of United Nations Humanitarian Response Depots, and leadership of the Augmented Logistics Intervention Team for Emergencies (ALITE), consistently focusing on logistics and partnerships, and how these two come together. Her dynamic attitude and deep understanding of the value of partnerships are crucial, especially in the face of an unprecedented number and scale of crises worldwide, ranging from the conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, South Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan, CAR, the Sahel; to impacts of climate change leading to more frequent and intense natural disasters. Prior to joining WFP, Maïlin worked in the field of water resource management and collaboration with NGOs in Northern Mali & the Sahel, Kosovo, Albania and Morocco. In these roles, she managed humanitarian operations & community engagement programmes. Maïlin holds a post graduate degree in Humanitarian Assistance specialized in Logistics and Humanitarian Law from the University of Aix-Marseille III and a Master’s degree in International Finance.
