Joel’s core theme in life is learning, practicing, and supporting ideas and approaches that restore people and the environment to health and flourishing.

Joel has over 15 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and grassroots partnerships focused on holistic children and youth development in under-resourced communities in Africa. Before leading work in children and youth development, Joel had about 10 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, and Business support services.

Joel holds an MA in Organizational Leadership, an MBA, a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a CPA. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Executive Leadership Network (ELNET) in Kenya. In addition, Joel serves on Boards, including the Association of Evangelicals in Africa (AEA).
