Jane Lewis
Head at UNHCR-WFP Joint Programme Excellence and Targeting Hub
Jane Lewis, an Irish national, has 20 years of field experience with humanitarian, stabilization and peace-building efforts in the Balkans, Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East. She has served with the United Nations, the European Commission, international NGOs and as an independent consultant. During her career she has led complex crisis response efforts in both natural and man-made disasters in Kosovo, Cambodia, Burundi, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Chad, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. Ms Lewis has extensive experience in crisis diplomacy and conflict management - including engagement with state and non-state actors – and first-hand knowledge of a broad range of international response models.
Since 2020, Ms. Lewis has led the UNHCR-WFP Joint Programme Excellent and
Targeting Hub, a dynamic collaboration between the United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees and the United Nations World Food Programme to
enhance assistance and outcomes for refugees and other forcibly displaced people. Ms. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from New York University and Master of Public Policy in International Relations from Princeton University.
