Mr. Gian Carlo Cirri’s career with WFP counts over 25 years of service. Mr. Cirri joined the Geneva Global Office as Deputy Director in 2020, where he was nominated as Director in 2023. Before joining the Geneva Global Office, he served as WFP Representative in the Central African Republic. Throughout his career, Mr. Cirri has held various positions in WFP headquarters and in the field, including Deputy Director of Emergencies, Senior Programme Advisor to the Deputy Executive Director and Director of Operations, Deputy Director of the Policy Division and Head of the School Feeding Unit, as well as WFP Representative in Yemen, Mauritania and Niger. From 2016 to 2018, Mr. Cirri worked as Director for the Inter- Agency Standing Committee Peer-to-Peer Support Project. Mr. Cirri started his career with ICRC.
