Dirk Hanekom has served as country director for Norwegian Church Aid in Sudan since 2022. Dirk is a legal professional with more than 14 years’ experience helping organisations navigate complex operating contexts and emergency situations in conflict-affected and developing countries. He is an internationally accredited mediator, holds an MBA from the University of Cape Town GSB, and an LLB from the University of Pretoria. Prior to joining Norwegian Church Aid, Dirk served as in-house counsel for other INGOs and managed a law firm in Kabul, Afghanistan, for 11 years.
