Andrea RANZANICI is the former managing director, now business development manager at Humanitarian Energy Plc, an Ethiopian social venture working in humanitarian settings to connect communities affected by displacement and the organizations supporting them with energy services tailored to their specific needs. Humanitarian Energy Plc is owned by a private energy company and the NGO Mercy Corps, bringing insiders’ knowledge and blended finance from both the for-profit and non-profit sector, allowing it to provide both practical and principled-driven energy services for the humanitarian sector. Andrea has more than a decade of experience supporting private companies, governments and donors through public-private partnerships (PPP) in the field of energy access in sub-Saharan African, with a track-record of successful blended finance deals for off-grid energy solutions.
