Alice Laugher, is the founder and CEO of Committed to Good (CTG), an international organisation with over 10,000 staff enabling humanitarian and development projects in conflict-affected countries.
An award-winning leader and passionate advocate for human rights, sustainability, and women’s empowerment, Alice leads by example and champions the private sector’s role in advancing global sustainability efforts. Alice has spearheaded CTG initiatives such as Female First, which has improved access to decent work for thousands of women in conflict-affected countries. She has also led job-readiness skills training, educating hundreds of individuals across Gaza, Somalia and South Sudan; the annual Committed to Good Summit; and pioneered a grant providing entrepreneurship training and business incubation to survivors of gender-based violence.
Alice advocates the importance of the private sector in developing solutions to advance sustainable development, promote human rights, empower women, and develop innovative technologies to benefit fragile and conflict-affected countries. She regularly speaks in the international arena, emphasising how leaders can build systems that allow organisations to thrive during times of crisis. Her expertise was further highlighted in a 2021 Harvard Business Review interview and her panel discussion on breaking barriers to achieving Global Sustainable Development Goals at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in 2023. At the 2023 Private Sector Forum as part of UNGA78, Alice shared her insights on the barriers to progress on the Sustainable Development Goals and the increased need for private sector engagement.
Alice’s acknowledgements include the UNGC SDG Pioneer Award, honouring her unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment in conflict-settings, and the prestigious Oslo Business for Peace Award in recognition of her “businessworthy” contribution to the building of trust, stability and peace.
