Development2030 - Beyond the UN SDGs
A new approach in 2025 with solutions-oriented outcomes
This year we focus on the challenges of and search for new solutions for the following SDGs:
SDG1 - No Poverty
SDG3 - Health for All
SDG13 - Climate Action
The international development sector is facing unprecedented turbulence. From the dissolution of major donors like USAID to the persistent struggle to stay on track with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the challenges are mounting. Life beyond the SDGs is inevitable, so it is crucial to establish new frameworks and collaborative pathways for sustainable development.
At Development2030, taking place on 22-23 October 2025 at Palexpo, in Geneva, there are no panels, long presentations or pitches – only candid discussions where everyone in the room is able to participate. These discussions are designed to create a collaborative and open environment where ideas can be challenged, perspectives shared, and innovative solutions developed.
Keynote - Partnerships for a sustainable future - Unlocking the potential for collective impact through multi-stakeholder collaboration
H.E. Thomas Wagner, Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative, EU Delegation in Geneva
Development2030 critically examines the future beyond the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by focusing on three specific goals each year. The sessions identify gaps in achieving the SDGs and analyses why the UN is struggling to meet its targets. Through open and solution-driven dialogue, we address these shortcomings, propose actionable strategies, and map out sustainable pathways to tackle the SDG challenges.
Development2030 is co-located with AidEx, the world’s leading humanitarian aid and disaster relief event; together the two events are attended by over 3000 international development actors, NGOs, foundations, senior economic, social and environmental advisors, members of government, DFIs, IFIs, impact investors, public donors, MDBs, multi-national organisations (such as the UN and EU) and private sector companies.
